My father's grandparents are Norwegian. His grandmother, Christine Engebritsen, emigrated from Skottevik, near Kristiansand on the southern tip of Norway. Thomas Lein, my great grandfather, emigrated from Hallingdal, in the mountains between Oslo and Bergen, in 1850.
